Saturday Snapshot - heart rock cafe

Alabama Hills on the east side of the Sierra Nevada.
I collect and provide sanctuary for heart-shaped rocks but was thrilled to spot this other type of heart-shaped rock during our recent road trip to Death Valley National Park.

road tripping

Badlands National Park [click on image to enlarge]
We're heading off to visit Death Valley National Park. It's our first visit despite growing up in California and living back in California for the past eight years. A quick trip this time (one day) but it looks like the weather is going to work out for us. The snow has let up in the Sierra and it's only going to be in the 80s in Death Valley.

Quotable - true story

"People want biography. People want memoir. They want you to tell them that the story you're telling them is true. The thing I'm telling you is true, but it did not always happen to me."
