take a little trip

Spent the day in San Francisco.
I've never seen so many people here at once.
Columbus Day events, Fleet Week, the Raiders, the 49ers, Giants and who knows what else was going on.
Can't beat a day like today though.
Who can blame anyone for wanting to be here.

Spent the day in San Francisco .. aren't these lyrics to some rock song? Completely blanking? No! Wait! It's "spent some time in San Francisco" from the song Bakersfield recently popularized by Dwight Yoakum (duet with Buck Owens.. LOVE the song).

Whew!
So glad I figured that out before heading to bed. Would have driven me crazy!

I really like Dwight Yoakam. Will check out that song. Have you heard Yoakam's cover of the Clash's Train in Vain? Love it.

"Hey, you don't know me, but you don't like me."

Streets of Bakersfield

Twangy, but in a good way. I like!

BTW - it's pretty funny that you were reminded of a Yoakam tune when I was thinking "Low Rider" by War. Ha!
